Tonight is my second meeting with Bryan and Kristin regarding their Save the Date cards! I started with around 20 designs (I think I went a little overboard). We narrowed things down a little and this evening we are reviewing Round 2. I’m pulling for these two:
Tomorrow I am headed to Charlotte, NC to visit my old roommate from college for the long holiday weekend. Charlotte is one of those places that has been on my “need to visit list” and I cannot wait. I hope to visit at least a few of these places from design*sponge’s “Charlotte CIty Guide” list. Happy Labor Day!
In this great find, two of my favorite things in life meet . . . design AND ice cream. eCreamery.com is an online custom ice cream & gelato shop where you choose your own flavors, mix-ins, packaging, even your own ice cream name. They have odd flavors like Avocado, Carrot and Cucumber, but Coffee, Tiramisu, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Mousse looked yummy to me. How exciting!
Over the past several months, I have become more and more obsessed with Etsy, a website which focuses primarily on buying and selling handmade items. Sellers have “stores” similar to ebay, where they can list their items for sale. This site is just flat out awesome. I find myself looking for hours at the funky paintings, handmade jewelry, vintage clothes, unique cards and much more. My coworker purchased 8 small, “etsy” paintings for me as a birthday gift and since then I just can’t get enough. I shared the site with my roomie Meg and she immediately bought a painting for her bedroom. She loved the work so much, Meg personally contacted the artist to make 2 more to match! Here are just a few cool things I found today I liked. Enjoy!
This weekend I am heading to Smith Mountain Lake to eat, drink and be merry. On the way down, I’m meeting with Bryan & Kristin to show them several designs I did for their save the dates! Here is a sneak peak! (Note: for privacy, last names have been removed)
What an awesome weekend! Friday, I met with friends of mine, Bryan & Kristin, to begin designing their “save-the-date” cards for their upcoming May wedding. Below are some examples I am using for inspiration. Then, Friday evening, my dear friend Arielle got engaged too! I am so excited!!
From the mind of this blog comes a “Wordle” work of art! Check it out!
Check out the portfolio of Tomasz Opasinski, the brain behind many famous movie posters we all know and love. It’s hard to believe this is a one man show, but see for yourself the amazing design process of the I am Legend poster.
